Changes to our Delivery Services

We have been forced to move away from from Royal Mail as our primary delivery service for small packets and parcels. This is due to discovering that buying a signed for service without physically taking each packet to a post office to obtain a proof of posting means there is no way to claim for anything lost or damaged.

As our local post office only operates for 2 mornings a week and our next closest is 5 miles away it is just not workable to either travel 10 miles to post a parcel worth maybe £5 or £10 which would earn possibly £3 profit, just not viable, no more than making a customer wait 3 days until the post office is open in order to send their order would be acceptable.

So we have now installed two couriers as our delivery providers, Hermes and Uk mail, both of which not only insure all goods carried but also have full tracking of the parcels / packets from the moment they are collected from us to when delivered to you.

Parcels with a value up to £20 are sent without needing a signature while more valuable items will require a signature to cover the higher insurance value.

This change has meant our minimum postage has increased from £2.20 to £3.50 which although not welcome would probably be worth it for a fully insured and tracked service.
